Ezekiel 5:5 [5] “Thus says the Lord GOD: ‘This is Jerusalem. I have set her in the middle of the nations, and countries are around her.

Jerusalem is not only the centre of the world geographically, but also spiritually. The holy city is mentioned over 800 times in the Holy Scriptures & since it's synonymous with its other name Zion, it swells to over 1000.

Jerusalem is also called the City of the great King (Matthew 5:35, Psalms 48:2). It's also the birthplace & death place of the Messiah of Israel. It's the birthplace of the Church of God, also the place of the ascension & the second coming of Messiah during the final apocalyptic events.

Jerusalem is called the city of truth & God's holy mountain (Zechariah 8:3). It's the reason that the Adversary, Ha Satan desired to ascend the City & infiltrate it with his lies & corruption but utterly failed thus he created counterfeit Rome which is Babylon.

Isaiah 14:13 [13] You said in your heart, “I will ascend into heaven! I will exalt my throne above the stars of God! I will sit on the mountain of assembly, in the *far north!*

What is in the far north? Jerusalem

Psalms 48:2 [2] Beautiful in elevation, the joy of the whole earth, is Mount Zion, on the north sides, the city of the great King. So we look to the City of Truth, Mt Zion, Holy Jerusalem, the City of our Festivals.

Isaiah 33:20 [20] Look at Zion, the city of our appointed festivals. Your eyes will see Jerusalem, a quiet habitation, a tent that won’t be removed. Its stakes will never be plucked up, nor will any of its cords be broken.

Hebrews 12:22 [22] But you have come to Mount Zion, and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to innumerable multitudes of angels.

Therefore, God placed Jerusalem in the middle of the nations for a purpose. In a way He was telling the nations that this is the place where He dwells. No wonder men have fought over this city for millennia because there is an unexplainable need to capture Jerusalem. If only they knew the reason for this irrational urge is spiritual. But little do they know of Jerusalem’s spiritual significance.

It’s a city that God put His name in. If the world knew its spiritual significance then salvation would come to the world through the city and Isaiah’s prophecy would be fulfilled today.

Isaiah 2:2-3 - Many peoples will come and say, "Come, let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the temple of the God of Jacob. He will teach us his ways, so that we may walk in his paths." The law will go out from Zion, the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.
