The church of God 7th day in Kenya stands and holds doctrines in the divine scriptures as explained in the Bible.

Pictorial Hebrew speaks volumes about this word. Pictorially, the letter Heh is depicted as a man with uplifted arms and bent knees in adoration. Lamed depicts a shepherd's staff with a hook to guide sheep. And Koph is depicted as a human hand.

Walking with Elohim

The scriptures are full of instances when Elohim called on the children of Adam to walk with him. Right from Eden it is indicative that Elohim used to walk with our parents in the afternoon. Enoch is said to have intimately walked with Elohim until he was no more, for Adonai took him lest he should see the death sent on earth with the flood (Genesis 5:24). Noah is also said to have walked with Elohim blamelessly (Genesis 6:9).

There are also instances in the scriptures when Abraham was commanded to walk before Elohim blamelessly (Genesis 17:1).

After the betrothal, Israel was required to walk in HaShem's ways (Deuteronomy 10:12).

All these instances clearly show that walking means obeying the commands of Adonai; following his word; to having a great relationship with Adonai.

But how So?

One distinctive feature that permeates creation is motion. Right from the tiniest particles that man has so far discovered: the subatomic quacks that continuously move at mind-boggling speeds to deliver much-needed energy, to the spinning and revolving giant galaxies that proclaim the majesty of the Creator, motion seems to be everywhere.

But to what end?

As already stated, motion is how energy gets delivered from one point in space to another. It is also motion that manifests points in time as construed by our brain. Whether time moves is still a hot debate even among scientists. Many great ones hold the opinion that time does not move from past to present to future. They think that our perception of time is a means for our brains to construct our relationship to our conscious ascension/descending to Truth.

That aside, it is clear that without motion, the walk, then reality would remain in situ and the status quo maintained between the Creator and the creation. But not so with our benevolent Father. Right from the start, an immutable law was instituted: a law that continues to baffle scientists; the law of Entropy. It was decreed that energy should be in constant motion. Something that defies logic because, from a scientific perspective, it is expensive for the universe to be chaotic. But as it was in the beginning so it continues to date: as The Set Apart Ruach moved with the creative force upon the waters, out of chaos came forth order. Orderly Energy suddenly becomes chaotic, flowing and delivering life where there is death.

Therefore a quality walk with Elohim should quicken us.

But how So?

To better answer this question, let us look at the Hebrew mindset on walk. For to them were delivered the oracles of Elohim (Romans 9:4,5).

The word walk or phrase to walk is English for Hebrew Halak. Now Halak is written as HLK in Hebrew. It comprises of letters Heh, Lamed, and Koph.

Pictorial Hebrew speaks volumes about this word. Pictorially, the letter Heh is depicted as a man with uplifted arms and bent knees in adoration. Lamed depicts a shepherd's staff with a hook to guide sheep. And Koph is depicted as a human hand.

As such, the letter Heh in halak implies a life of adoration and submission. Romans 6:4 states that we should walk in the newness of life.

The letter lamed implies a shepherding. Now in Hebrew, the criteria of determining the quality of a shepherd was set by Yahshua in John 10:2-4 as follows, "....he who enters through the door is the shepherd of the sheep.....the sheep hear his voice. And he calls his sheep by name and leads them out.....he goes before them. And the sheep follow him because they know his voice...." So unlike regular shepherding where the shepherd follows the sheep and they are forced onto the way, here the shepherd and the sheep have grown so intimate that the sheep knows the voice of the shepherd. This calls for a quality life of constant 24/7 fellowship as stated in 1 John 1:7 that walking in the light means we have fellowship with the Light. There should be no coercion. Rather the relationship should be by mutual consent.

Letter Koph that depicts a hand; it implies giving or receiving depending on context.

So the crucial question is what is being given and by whom?

This answer is found by critically looking at the word walk in the context of walking with Elohim.

When it is reversed, the word halak gives kalah. Halak and Kalah mirror each other. Kalah is the bride. And we are the bride of Yahshua (II Corinthians11:2). So we need to look at the meaning of Kalah from the perspective of Yahshua. And there lies the secret of our quality of walk.

Kalah is written as KLH. Koph means When we walk with HaShem it should be such that the bridegroom always gives us; this means we depend on him for our sustenance. This sustenance comes in the form of shepherding depicted by the second letter Lamed. The ultimate goal is to give life depicted by the last letter Heh. So Yahshua says in John 10:27,28 "...My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. And I give them everlasting life, and they shall by no means ever perish, and no one shall snatch them out of My hand..."

Therein lies the beauty of our walk with Elohim: it means a 247 fellowshiping with our maker such that we receive from him our very life just as a bride intimately fellowships with the bridegroom with the intent that when the right time comes the two shall become one and bring forth a new life from where there was none.

And so Ephesians 4:1 states we should walk worthily of the heavenly calling. A bride should walk such that she shall not be exposed as naked in whoredom as Yahshua warned In Revelation 3:18. Therefore let us strive to secure the promise in Revelation 3:4 they "....who have not defiled their garments....shall walk with Me in white, because they are worthy...."
