Sometime many years ago, a king was enjoying the sunshine on the roof of  his palace. Then he looked out.

His eyes focused to see a beautiful woman washing herself somewhere down below. What the heart processed led him to  issue two executive orders:

1. Get the woman and make her his wife.
2. Get her husband killed.

That was tragic.

English speakers tell me there is a thin line between  looking and seeing. That looking is actually focusing on an object  in a superficial way. You can look and not see. But in 'seeing' the  eyes can go deeper into detail. On many occasions our eyes are  running and following after people and things.

The words of the savior give a powerful position in Matthew 5: 28 ; that whosoever looks at a woman to lust after her has already  committed adultery with her.
Too much of anything could be harmful. Curiosity could get you  killed.

How much looking is not sin? I guess it's looking without registering the details that will tempt you. Allowing the eyes to move on....

David looked too much and committed a big sin. When he acknowledged his sin he did a prayer;

"Turn away mine eyes from beholding vanity" Psalms 119:37.

Two sons avoided seeing their father's nakedness and were  blessed. Another looked, saw and reported it. He got a curse.

Many men have received slaps on their faces from their wives and  girlfriends for being caught staring.

Poor me! What shall I do?

It is apparent some things are not worth seeing. They are vanity, and watching some stuff could lead you to sin and unrighteousness.

But there is also beauty that is worthy of recognition and  appreciation. Nature is beautiful and healthy pure relationships too.
A famous African greeting "Sawubona" means I notice you, I see  you , I appreciate you.

In fearing the words of the savior its up to you to decide what to  look and what to see.

Keep thinking...
